Blood Borne Pathogen
This training is designed to provide a basic understanding of bloodborne pathogens, common modes of transmission, and methods of preventing exposure.
Emergency Medical Technician – Basic
As an Emergency Medical Technician ? Basic, you play a critical role in emergency response to urgent situations and events. As an EMT you will learn how to recognize abnormal physical conditions through analysis of diagnostic signs and symptoms. In addition you will learn how to care for persons with an illness or injury at the scene of an incident and throughout transport to a medical facility while providing critical information to advanced providers ensuring the best possible outcomes for your patients. Basic EMT course is approximately 165 classroom hours and 35 clinical hours with a total of 200 course hours. The Basic EMT course consists of; patient assessment, airway management, medical emergencies, traumatic emergencies, infant through elderly assessment and care as well as pregnancy, childbirth, EMS operations and preparatory.
Heartsaver CPR & AED
This American Heart Association approved course provides adult, child, and infant CPR according to American Heart Association standards. Students will attend American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR certification upon successful completion of this course. This certification meets the needs of many state licensure requirements.
Heartsaver CPR & First Aid
Participants will learn CPR, First Aid, and foreign body airway obstruction relief for all age groups. Automated external defibrillation (AED) training will also be provided.
Heartsaver First Aid
This American Heart Association approved course provides Standard First Aid according to American Heart Association standards. Students will attain American Heart Association Heartsaver First Aid certification upon successful completion of this course. This certification meets the needs of many state licensure requirements.
Personal Protection Inside the Home (Michigan CPL/CCW)
This NRA approved course teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to the safe and efficient use of a handgun for protection of self and family, and to provide information on the law-abiding individuals right to self-defense.This is an eight-hour course. Students should expect to shoot approximately 100 rounds of ammunition. Students will learn basic defensive shooting skills, strategies for home safety and responding to a violent confrontation, firearms and the law, how to choose a handgun for self-defense, and continued opportunities for skill development.
Upon successful completion the student will receive a course completion certifciate which will qualify the student to apply for a State of Michigan Concealed Pistol License. Firearms or ammunition are not included in the course.
Due to the fact that this course provides education regarding personal protection it is important that firearm selection is appropriate for that purpose. Due to the nature of the course it mandatory a firearm chambered in a .380 or larger be used for the range portion of the course.
Personal Protection Outside the Home
This NRA approved course, Personal Protection Outside the Home, is a 9 hour classroom and range course which focuses on teaching skills necessary to safely carry a concealed firearm outside the home while doing day to day activities. This course picks up where the Personal Protection in the Home course leaves off and teaches skills including how to safely draw a gun from a concealment hip holster or concealment handbag.
Successful completion of Personal Protection In the Home is a prerequisite for attending Personal Protection Outside the Home. This course is not a class for beginning shooters, it is intended to provide additional skills to citizens that choose to make carrying a firearm part of their daily activiities. You must be able to hit a paper plate at 15 feet with a handgun in order to get the maximum benefit from the range session. Firearms and ammunition is not included in this course.

Sexual Harassment Assault & Rape Prevention
Participants, under the direct supervision of a certified PPCT instructor, will experience both lecture and hands-on defensive tactics training. Emphasis is placed on awareness, predator profiling, escape evasion, physical control tactics and defensive counterstrikes.
