The ICS 300 course is a 24-hour, classroom-based program designed for front-line personnel with supervisory responsibilities, such as an Incident Commander or Planning Section Chief. This three-day course includes instruction on incident command principles and hands-on tabletop exercises to reinforce practical application.

ICS 700: National Incident Management System (NIMS) Overview
On February 28, 2003, President George W. Bush issued Homeland Security Presidential Directive-5 (HSPD-5), directing the Secretary of Homeland Security to develop and administer the National Incident Management System (NIMS).
