ICS 100, Introduction to the Incident Command System, introduces the Incident Command System (ICS) and provides the foundation for higher level ICS training. This course describes the history, features and principles, and organizational structure of the Incident Command System. ICS 200

ICS 200 is designed to enable personnel to operate efficiently during an incident or event within the Incident Command System (ICS). ICS-200 provides training on and resources for personnel who are likely to assume a supervisory position within the ICS. ICS 300

The National Incident Management System, or NIMS, provides a consistent framework for entities at all jurisdictional levels to work together to manage domestic incidents, regardless of cause, size, or complexity, and includes a core set of guidelines, standards, and protocols for command and management, preparedness, resource management, communications and information management, supporting technologies, and management. Within the NIMS framework, the Incident Command System provides a scalable, standardized methodology for organizing and managing resources and overall response to incidents. The ICS 300-level course is a 24-hour, classroom-based, multidiscipline or multijurisdiction course intended for front-line personnel with supervisory responsibilities, such as the incident commander or planning section chief. As an all-hazards Incident Command System course, the three-day curriculum consists of several modules that include instruction in general principles associated with incident command, along with various tabletop exercises that allow students to put this knowledge to practical use. ICS 400

The National Incident Management System, or NIMS, provides a consistent framework for command level entities at all jurisdictional levels, including local, state, and federal, to work together to manage domestic incidents, regardless of cause, size, or complexity. This course looks at various command and management options to successfully manage large scale incidents that impact various jurisdictional boundaries. The ICS 400-level course is a 14 hour, classroom-based, multidiscipline or multijurisdictional course intended for front-line personnel with supervisory responsibilities, such as the incident commander or planning section chief. As an all-hazards Incident Command System course, the two-day curriculum consists of several modules that include instruction in general principles associated with incident command, along with various tabletop exercises that allow students to put this knowledge to practical use. ICS 700

On February 28, 2003, President Bush issued Homeland Security Presidential Directive-5. HSPD-5 directed the Secretary of Homeland Security to develop and administer a National Incident Management System (NIMS). NIMS provides a consistent nationwide template to enable all government, private-sector, and nongovernmental organizations to work together during domestic incidents. NIMS – Incident Command System for the Fire Service (Prerequisite for CO I & II)

This course is designed to meet the needs of Fire Fighters and Fire Officers who have responsibilities to deploy, implement, and/or function within an Incident Command System (ICS). This program addresses the need for an incident management system. It provides an overview of the structure, how ICS can be expanded for the nature of the incident and addresses command skills needed by Fire Fighters and Fire Officers on the effective use of ICS guidelines, and includes scenario practice on how to apply ICS.
